Initial Design of a W-Band Superconducting Kinetic Inductance Qubit

چکیده

Superconducting qubits are widely used in quantum computing research and industry. We describe a superconducting kinetic inductance qubit (and introduce the term Kineticon to it) operating at W-band frequencies with nonlinear nanowire section that provides anharmonicity required for two distinct energy states. Operating higher may relax dilution refrigerator temperature requirements these devices paves path multiplexing large number of qubits. Millimeter-wave operation requires superconductors relatively high $T_c$, which implies gap frequency, 2$\Delta/h$, beyond photons break Cooper pairs. For example, NbTiN $T_c =15\,\text{K}$ has frequency near 1.4 THz, is much than aluminum (90 GHz), allowing throughout millimeter-wave band. Here we design simulation embedded 3-D cavity. perform classical electromagnetic calculations resulting field distributions.

Superconducting Microstrip-Fed Antenna Coupled to a Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector

A proper antenna to couple to a microstrip Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID) is designed and simulated. A twin-slot microstrip-fed inline antenna is designed for frequency band of 600-720~GHz integrated with an elliptical lens and coupled to the MKID. A systematic design procedure for design of such antenna with microstrip inline feeding is presented. Whole structure of lens and twin...

Design of a Miniaturized Superconducting Bandpass Filter by Evaluating the Kinetic Inductance in the K-Inverter

We propose a design theory of the miniaturized high temperature superconducting (HTS) coplanar waveguide (CPW) bandpass filter (BPF), which is composed of meanderline quarter-wavelength resonator, Jand K-inverters. The Jand K-inverters are realized by using interdigital gap and meander-shape inductor. To evaluate the kinetic inductance of the K-inverter, we fabricate the YBCO resonator connecte...

Multiplexable Kinetic Inductance Detectors

We are starting to investigate a novel multiplexable readout method that can be applied to a large class of superconducting pair-breaking detectors. This readout method is completely different from those currently used with STJ and TES detectors, and in principle could deliver large pixel counts, high sensitivity, and Fano-limited spectral resolution. The readout is based on the fact that the k...

Inductance Effects in the Persistent Current Qubit

A general method is illustrated to show that the Hamiltonian for circuits of Josephson junctions can he expanded in terms of three Hamiltonians: a Hamiltonian representative of the inductance-free circuit, a Hamiltonian in the form of an harmonic oscillator for the inductance effects of the circulating currents, and a small correction term. This method is used to show that the inductive effects...

Metastable superconducting qubit.

We propose a superconducting qubit design, based on a tunable rf SQUID and nanowire kinetic inductors, which has a dramatically reduced transverse electromagnetic coupling to its environment, so that its excited state should be metastable. If electromagnetic interactions are in fact responsible for the current excited-state decay rates of superconducting qubits, this design should result in a q...
